The heart of The Steam Power Collective: Redefining Leadership

During the decades I had been working in all these different companies, there were a few things I kept seeing over and over again:
- There was too much bureaucracy leading to too much work and delays;
- During reorganizations entire chunks of an organization which were critical, were taken out, just to safe money short term, again leading to being severely understaffed (not to mention the core-business not being to function anymore due to loss of knowledge)
- Last but not least there was the choice in managers. These managers were hardly ever trained for this job. They didn’t see what the organization was about, the existing culture and what was important for the people. It was about quick wins, moving on and leaving a non-functioning organization (both short but especially long term) behind.
Truth time
Let me challenge you here for a moment.
How are you doing as a leader? You started your business because you’re great at what you do, but has anyone ever taught you how to lead with clarity and patience? The good news is, leadership can be learned.
