5 Ways to keep yourself accountable
Aug 27, 2024Accountability is something we easily can consider someone else’s job. If they don’t live up to their role we can blame them for us not succeeding, but how about our own responsibility?
1) Find an accountability partner
Find a friend, a coach or another person to check up on you and ask how you’ve done. You don’t want to fail them, so you’ll make sure you’ve done it.
2) Find a (MasterMind) Group
Become part of a group who all need accountability partners and hence consist of possible accountability partners.*
3) Use Brendon Burchard’s Friday Finishers**:
Write things down and check back at the end of the day or week. Know ahead of time what to expect and what to work on.
4) Take Evan Carmichael’s pillow test
At the end of the day, before hitting the pillow with your head, do the pillow test. Was there something you were supposed to do? Can you do so now, before going to bed? In addition:
At the end of the day check what is on the list the next day.
5) Virtual Accountability Partner - ©️Lady Lexy
Create a VAP, a Virtual Accountability Partner (©️Lady Lexy) . It could be a role model, your future self, any character that could work for you. Talk to this imaginative person, knowing they already know what works best for you. More importantly, they don’t have to accept your excuses. So if you want to argue, write down your thoughts and next write down the answers from the one who is not emotionally attached (or afraid) of telling it like it is.
