How to get back to Consistency using Resilience

Sep 13, 2024

Last night I made a post about being resilient enough to get back to being consistent. I need to be consistent, if I want to leave a legacy. In order to leave a legacy I need to get my message back out there. In order to get my message out there, I need to be focused, which requires flow, which usually requires momentum. The good news is that momentum can be created.

Momentum

In order to create momentum, I need the following Ingredients to get into the flow:

    • Energy;
    • Little to no distractions;
    • A concept to write about.

The concept: Consistency

Coming up with a concept is usually the easiest thing to do. There’s always something going on which requires some extra attention. in this case it has to do with consistency. The consistency to continue on with the group coaching training on a weekly basis, the blog posts, my Friday Night Live and my daily instagram posts.

However I mentioned something else as well, which is resilience.

Consistency mixed with Resilience

Why resilience? The resilience is needed for when consistency seems to be failing. It’s for when I need to get back to consistency, despite numerous distractions, and/or lack of energy.

It’s about knowing it can be done. It’s about knowing it MUST be done. No excuse, whatsoever.

Energy to get stuff done

Another requirement would be energy. in my normal surroundings I tend to fall asleep at various times during the day. Part of this is related to how much I have been able to sleep and part of it is related to how much I have done, especially physically. Absorbing a lot, having a lot to keep your mind occupied, needing time to process it all, can also cause the need for more sleep.

Now that I’m overseas, My amount of energy is related to whatever I’m doing during the day. The good news is that I get to sleep at night. That’s a big win. I also know that, especially when I’m doing a lot of walking, I cannot do without my sleep. Whereas at home, I might do things last minute, I don’t want to do stuff here in the middle of the night, the exception being working on my daily Instagram posts. There’s always a video out there I can use, a nice picture and/or simply a quote.

Little to No Distractions

The hardest part of all of this are the distractions, especially if they’re ongoing. What creates the perfect circumstances for you? When and how can you set boundaries?

You can also ask yourself: What gets you distracted and how can you avoid this?

Last but not least

Can you say: “Whatever happens, I’m going to do this”? It might be with some delay, but no matter what: “I am going to do this”!!!
