How specific action can provide you with clarity and energy

The effects of lack of clarity

Clarity is the opposite of having doubts and uncertainty, not knowing what to do. Clarity is something we crave for. Without emotions can run wild, even go haywire and that leads to a huge drain of energy. Energy we could use for other things, better purposes than doubt.

By using that energy to help solve the doubt, we channel it towards positivity and pride. We did it! We are doing it!

Maybe we don’t have the answers straight away, but the mere fact that we are working towards one, is satisfactory. That is unless it fees hopeless and you are wondering WHY you are doing this.

Why

Let’s start with that last part. The feeling of wanting to give up. Not knowing your Why can do so. Desperation and/or obligation are no good reasons to start doing something.

We need our Why to make sense. Basically we need Clarity again.  

By simplifying things, we get a chance to start over. Why again did we want to do something? Change something? Start something up?

Knowing Why, even if the reason at first is “Change for the Better”, already gives us a boost. Knowing what is behind that why could explain a lot and connect to a deep emotional feeling. We do this by asking ourselves “why” 7 times (as a guideline).

The first steps towards how

The Why alone is not enough though to start and, more importantly, keep taking action. We need to have an idea what exactly we are going to do. It’s not having a clue what to do and where to start that can take away all the energy straight away.

1) Research 

What helps is getting clarity. Doing research for specific steps is a good starting point. Getting support from someone else to push through those hard questionable moments, makes all the difference.

2) Support

Support can be given by someone you know, a partner, a friend, a family member, a coach, just to name a few.

Sometimes we need something more. We need support from the inside out, from ourselves. This is where meditation can play a major role.

3) Meditation 

Meditation, especially guided meditation can connect us to our inner child, the one who has access to our dreams and our fears. The one who used to have (and still has) dreams and desires, but also has been conditioned to survive. Those two can lead to totally different actions, which leads to confusion at best.

Meditation can also connect us to our future self, if we allow ourselves to believe that we are capable of doing “extraordinary” things or better put, things out of our comfort zone.

4) Role Models

Seeing what others are capable of doing, so called role models can give us that boost to see possibilities. If… then I…

5) Visualizing

Meditation and (day)dreaming can make it possible to allow ourselves to experience potential outcomes. This is not a skill you might be able to master on your own, but with the help of a guided meditation, possibly supported by a coach and/or therapist can learn to apply.

6) Writing

By writing it down, you can get an overview of what you want to achieve. This can be the perfect start for working on your dreams and goals by getting clarity. Regardless of where you start, it all starts by taking action and taking that first step towards daring to grab and hold onto opportunities.
