7 steps - How to get an Overview of what Matters
Jul 30, 2024Do you know those moments you had planned something and it worked out in a totally different direction? Well this post is about that and what to do about it.
Step 1 - What is most important?
What is more/most important? The original idea or what came up later?
Personally I use everything that’s out there as a source of inspiration. That includes this dilemma, which is perfect for a motivational message.
Step 2 - What’s the bare minimum?
What can I do right now, without crossing too many boundaries? In other words: How much do I need to do right now?
For me the goal is to get a MOTIVATIONAL message out there. This might include the video, but this time I might skip the video for later today. Because of the time, I might use a picture instead, if that supports the message. I can record the video later and add it when I am not so sleepy.
Step 3 - What is essential?
In my case this is asking if the original message is so important that it still needs to be addressed? If so: Which part exactly and why?
My primary message is related to how I want to get the description of my trip out there and how I want to offer it to the people.
There is a dilemma related to it which I think can be fixed by getting the information out there in chunks. Each chunk is an addition on top of the previous one.
Step 4 - Making it fit
In this case I wrote down 4 steps (which might become more whilst writing this down). They are all related to one another and to the main title/question: “How to get back to what matters?”
Step 5 - What else?
What else is important enough to add, especially with step 4 in mind? In this case it’s creating that overview. Which leads me straight to step 6.
Step 6 - Create the Overview:
- What is most important for the message?
- What is the bare minimum I need to do right now to get it out there?
- What else needs to be added and why?
- Make if fit;
- What else is part of the overview?
- Create the outline.
- Publish
Step 7 - Publish
Publish at least this part of the message. Anything else can be added later. But let’s start with the framework in mind.
Last but not least:
If you want to receive these 7 steps to create an overview of what matters, please leave a comment so I can get back to you and send it.
